Summer 2021 update

The Rugby School Group is delighted to announce that plans for opening Rugby School Japan in September 2023 are on track. A legal agreement was signed this week by Rugby’s international arm, Chiba University as landowner, and Clarence Education Asia Limited, our operating partner.

Rugby School Japan will be built at Chiba University’s Kashiwanoha campus, 30 minutes from Central Tokyo. A day and boarding school, it will educate 750 pupils aged 11 to 18, offering them the full Rugby experience leading to IGCSE and A-levels, and access to the world’s top universities. Rugby’s House system will be a central feature of the new campus. Our second international sister school will benefit from Rugby’s 450-year history and experience in delivering educational excellence, championing its ‘Whole Person, Whole Point’ ethos within the context of Japan.
