For the 2023/24 Academic Year admissions will be open for Years 7,8.9.10 (IGCSE) and 12 (A level).
The School will hold a large number of regular small group information sessions for prospective parents from late September 2022 onwards. For parents outside of the Tokyo area that cannot attend an in-person meeting, online sessions will also be available.
Any parent that wishes their daughter or son to be considered for a place at Rugby School Japan will in the first instance need to register their interest via the Open Apply online portal.
ONLINE APPLICATION PROCEDURE
The formal application process will open in late September 2022 via the Open Apply portal. Once an application is received, applicants will be assessed in numeracy, literacy, verbal reasoning and other specific subjects as required. All assessments will be conducted in English.
The School will also request a copy of recent report cards, which should cover at least two years preceding the date of application. Consideration will also be given to any formal public examination results, and a confidential reference will also be required and requested directly from the child’s current or last school.
An interview to establish your child’s broader interests and character will also take place to assess their non-academic potential. We are looking for academic ability and potential, co-curricular interests and enthusiasms and the necessary resilience to be part of a boarding school environment – even as a day student.
Parents must fully understand and accept the educational philosophy of the School and its commitment to a holistic and broad boarding and day education.
